Inspired by small pieces of rattan, hand-set into a seemingly random pattern. Small pieces of rattan were carefully hand-set into a playful and seemingly random pattern, after which a mechanical version of this handcrafted work of art was produced. The alternation of straight and curved lines gives this design a natural look. Mauna is named for Mauna Kea, Hawaii's tallest mountain and a dormant volcano.
